Once upon a time I had love like summer wine Skin was soft as winter snow When I was young I didn’t know Love could cuase a grown man pain
I don’t sit and wonder why I don’t sleep around and cry There’s just something in my eye Not a teardrop, just a memory in the rain
It’s been a long, long time since you put your lips on mine With your breath so fine like wine, like springtime so divine I’ll be on the downtown street, lookin plain If we meet face to face, just walk on by Not a teardrop, just a memory in the rain
I don’t wanna be no love detective I’m gonna keep my heart protected I’m gonna keep my own perspective Keep all ships sailing in one direction I’m gonna keep on movin, I’m gonna keep on groovin; I’m gonna keep on doin’ and I ain’t gonna cry for you girl
Ain’t no great wide ocean Ain’t no deep blue sea Ain’t no more spilled milk for you to puss around with me Not a teardrop, but a memory in the rain
Cry about it now
No room for discrepancies, hotel got no vacancy Shout if you want but you can’t touch me Freak around if you want but you can’t f$*k me Look up to the sky, go back in your mind See the fish with the spoon and the man in the moon with the teardrop in his eye
All’s well that ends well, the story’s told and that’s what people say The good old days will be back again, remember the time when those words will fly away Someday when we meet again, it’ll be easy we won’t have to pretend That we would wish it was like it was back when Not a teardrop, just a memory in the rain
Not a teardrop, just a memory for the pain Not a teardrop, just a memory for the rain
Belladonna lily, beautiful lady Sparkling mistress of the open sands I have come to set you free, baby put your trust in me To understand, take my hand; you’re a flower, I’m a man
Amaryllis, I hope you do Amaryllis, I’m determined to Amaryllis, I promise you O Amaryllis, Amaryllis, Amaryllis, I love you
White with crimson, from the winter rains You bring me hope from the Western Cape How I long to see you bloom in the springtime afternoon Know too well to kiss and tell, the game’s the same, I’m for sale
Amaryllis, I hope you do Amaryllis, I’m determined to Amaryllis, I promise you O Amaryllis, Amaryllis, Amaryllis, I love you
~ dance ~
Amaryllis, I love you
Ocean winds like a shepherdess swoon amongst the coastal rocks Naked lady amongst the flower blooms, I’m your nightly moth Do not fear, we’ll be coming back next year To understand, take my hand; you’re a flower, I’m a man
Amaryllis, I hope you do Amaryllis, I’m determined to Amaryllis, I promise you O Amaryllis, Amaryllis, Amaryllis, Amaryllis, I love you
Exciting news! My friend Joseph McCauley is coming with me to record in the studio in New York!
Joseph plays saxophone and keys, and has joined me recently on stage for several shows. I’m grateful to have his contributions to the music, especially for the upcoming recording session … in a few days!
Here we are together at the Empire Theater in Grand Forks, ND, with our buddy Brian Rydell on percussion. Stay tuned for some wonderful video recordings from that show, that we’ll be posting to YouTube soon!
Joseph and I will arrive in Brooklyn on Thursday morning and head into the studio. We’re meeting up with our friends Casey, Keith, Harry, and Mike, who are all playing on the songs! ROCK & ROLL!!!!
Friday is our primary day for recording, and we intend to livestream the session LIVE from the studio .. so you can tune in and be a part of the magic!! We’re so close to reaching our $2,500 goal, and every contribution helps bring this dream to life. Don’t miss out on the chance to experience this journey with me, as I record new rockin’ original music in the studio!
